Giant Kelp Forest in Glass Aquarium of the Pacific Long Beach, California
A huge life-size display positioned prominently at the front of the Aquarium of the Pacific features a super-resolution 2.6 gigapixel image of a California Kelp Forest embedded in the 26 glass windows that line 130 ft structure. Illuminated at night, the image is viewable from the inside and outside of the building, giving visitors the impression they are looking into an underwater Kelp Forest.

Jacobs Hall HiPerSpace Wall University of California San Diego
Images from the "Portrait of a Coral Reef" and "Return to Bloody Bay" projects are displayed on a high resolution tiled monitor at Jacobs Hall at UCSD in San Diego. The images document changes over a ten year period in a large section of a coral reef in the Caribbean. Marine scientist are analyzing the images, providing clues to the effects of global warming on coral reefs.
